Woodbury County's LITTLE SIOUX PARK to the north of Anthon, FOWLER FOREST and SOUTHWOOD PARK near Smithland, Iowa, which is to the south of Anthon, and several County owned public hunting areas bring people to the area and the Anthon community throughout the year to enjoy camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor activities. All staff members at the County Parks are always available to help make your visit or stay as enjoyable as possible.

The Correctionville Tractor Puller's Association

The CTPA hosts at least two tractor pulls each year. For more information about the Correctionville Tractor Puller's Association, you can Contact President:Dave Mathers, of Correctionville.



There are Church activities, High School Football, Volleyball,Basketball, Track, Wrestling, and Golf, There are even Soccer teams with tournaments for the younger kids, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Theater, Community Plays, Art Museums, Historical Societies, Genealogy Groups, and Museums, so many places, and things to do in the Little Sioux Valley, and Rural Woodbury County.

There is even fishing tournaments and plenty of great places to go fishing.
Try canoeing down the Little Sioux River from north of Correctionville, or from the Little Sioux Park - where you can rent a canoe.

There is always Euchere Tournaments during the winter months at the local pubs. Plus there is BINGO on Monday nights at the Anthon Community Center in Anthon. If you are into music, Art Ashley has organized a group of "locals" and formed a City Band. Contact Art if you are interested in joining or for more information. He's in the phone book.
